Colorado has spectacular backdrops to photograph in. Colorado also has some of the most beautiful sunsets that I have ever seen. We try to schedule our engagement sessions 2 hours before the sunsets for this very reason. It gives us plenty of time to get some great photos walking around in good light. Then the magic golden light before the sunsets, and then hopefully a beautiful sunset.
Christie and Brandon received an incredible sunset for their engagement session. During the session I noticed the clouds in the sky, thinking the sun could get under them just right and light them up pretty good. We talked about it and made our way over to the lake where we had some great open space to work in. The Colorado sky exploded with orange and red for us and we made use of it for their portraits. The colors didn’t last long, but we captured plenty of colorful sky to create some portraits they could hang on their wall.
